Block-chain app
Free and Equal's revolutionary blockchain app Vote Free lets you vote for who you want to see in our debates and who wins our debates. You choose which questions we ask the candidates and, after the debate, you decide who wins. Our app has been used to cast over 100,000 votes already, all of them securely in the blockchain for permanent record keeping. Partnering with Nexus.IO's revolutionary 3D blockchain, we will demonstrate that American elections can be held on a deeply secure, publicly verifiable, and maximally transparent platform.
And we're just getting started. Blockchain voting will transform our elections and bring needed transparency to the electoral process. We aim to level the playing field by providing a decentralized information hub beyond traditional and social media.

APP DEVELOPMENT VISION
Have you ever seen a debate where your gut felt the candidate had to be lying but you weren’t sure where to start with checking what they were saying? Our app will be partnering with political integrity technology firm WeVote to have a full database of the statements, and votes, that the candidate has previously made on the subjects they are debating. And we’ll have their financial contributors so you know who’s behind them. That way, you can become your own fact checker in real time and determine for yourself how much was true, how much you agreed with, and vote after the debate accordingly.
This will include:
- Database of every candidate running for office – Democrats, Republicans, Alternative Party Candidates, Independents
- Candidate details including biographical information, voting record, debate archives, and campaign contributions
- A link to an educational video of the topic from us [or one of our partners]
- ID Verification to ensure the vote reflects the will of every legal voter
Free and Equal has hosted Presidential, Vice Presidential, Senatorial, and Gubernatorial debates in our 16-year history. We will be expanding beyond that to host debates across the country at all levels of government. Each will have our self-fact checking format, enabling political transparency in the place it matters most: your district.

Our goal is to become a hub for unbiased information on major political issues and elections from an independent perspective. We endeavor to inform the American public to empower more good Americans to get involved in their communities and understand the political process. That’s why Vote Free will be expanded to include our Voter Support Hub, where we will provide the voter information on:
- How to register to vote
- How to research and volunteer for the candidates on their ballot
- How to help a candidate get on the ballot
- How to donate to and raise funds for a candidate
- How to encourage someone to run for office
As more people are better able to understand the how to engage with the political process, some will inevitably realize that they could represent their communities better than their current representatives. Free and Equal will be there to support them with our Candidate Support Hub, built by veterans of independent politics to provide the candidate-curious:
- How to get on the ballot
- How to fundraise
- How to campaign and district research
- How to assemble paid and volunteer staff
- How to develop strategy and policy plans
Colin Cantrell, founder of Nexus.IO, describes what is possible for such a portal below. We hope you join us as we build a more free and equal future.
Our debate platform leverages blockchain technology to select the candidates who make it to the stage. Powered by Nexus.io, each vote is recorded as a tamper-proof transaction on the blockchain, ensuring the integrity and fairness of the selection process. This decentralized approach empowers the community to democratically choose debaters based on merit and popularity, reducing risk of manipulation or bias.
Debate question
You choose what question we ask our candidates. individuals can submit and vote on potential topics. The top 10 will make it to an X post and selected based on the highest number of community votes, ensuring that the most relevant and engaging issues are brought to the forefront for discussion.
Community fact checking
Free & Equal debate will integrate chat forums from various social media platforms, allowing users to participate in the discussion. This integration aims to foster informed debates, bridging the gap between social media users and reliable information sources. Selected platforms will be posted ahead of the debate.
