The Way Our Political System Was Meant to Be
Now you can participate in the political adventure on your terms. Introducing Free & Equal, an independent group that represents the people. No political ties. No hidden agendas. Just one goal: a better democracy, and we want you to join in.
How can I make a difference?
The question many of us face in life is: how can we leave this country a better place than we found it? More important, how can “I” make a difference? Why not begin making your difference by joining the organization dedicated to building the next generation of political organization? Free & Equal is an unifying organization, with a national scope.
Is my vote worthless?
As young Americans, we were often told that one of the surest ways to make our difference was to cast our vote and make our opinions heard. Yet, for many of us it appears as though the thoughts and ideas of individuals are easily drowned out by large political advertising budgets, countless one-sided political talk shows, and other organizations that speak for agendas instead of for the people. These influences have left the average American feeling as though they have little to no impact on what really goes on in politics. Whether it is policy decisions or elections, it often appears that decisions are agreed upon in some back room, and not by “the people,” as our forefathers intended. We are dedicated to an open and transparent election process that gives power back to “the people.” We believe in educating individuals on electoral reforms that will create more candidates choices, showing individuals the options for self-government including initiatives and referendums, and encouraging voter participation.
Americans can do better
Consider the abysmal voter turnout rates during the 1996 election of only 48.5%. With only half of the potential voter population were making their choices known, how can we expect the political environment to change? Fast forward 30 years to the early 2000’s elections. Voter participation within the 18 to 24 year-old group dropped to a miserable 32%. These were the same people that protested and demanded their right to vote and yet now barely even one third care to participate? We aim to provide an easily accessible one-stop online portal where all citizens can access information on all candidates running for office. It will include a candidate’s records, past voting history, and political donations from special interest groups. Our goal for this database is to provide an equal voice for all and to allow potential voters the opportunity to participate freely and equally in the rights and responsibilities of the government. To build upon this, our database will be paired with our brand new website, which will provide vital training for independent candidates and give them the necessary tools to recruit volunteers, raise money and run winning campaigns. Our goal is to inspire candidates who are dedicated to stand-up to special interests and corporate controlled politicians.

Is the political system broken?
In a survey conducted by Northwestern University, associate professor Jack Doppelt discovered the reasons young voters gave for not voting were:
1. Nobody is listening to them
2. Politicians don’t do what they say they will do.
These same opinions are also held by potential voters in general. A chronic problem in elections is the growing number of candidates who run unopposed. They easily slide into seats with little effort since their competitors have given up on the process. Despite voter malaise, there are many citizens and voters who are working to change these trends and “do the right thing.”
Regardless of the continual pounding the political process takes, the idealist of our nation long for a better tomorrow. Our goal is to inspire candidates who are dedicated to standup to special interests and corporate controlled politicians. America’s major problems arise from status quo politicians on both sides of the aisle unwilling to stand-up to to big banks, corporations and the military industrial complex. We seek to help candidates get elected who will take on initiatives such as the Drug War, NDAA, Internet censorship and lobbying in Washington.
Are you part of the solution?
We know it is easy to simply turn the channel and avoid the political situation that affects every aspects of our lives… But we can no longer sum it all up to “nothing will change so why try.” Join Free & Equal in their mission to transform the system to work the way our forefathers and our fellow citizens today expect it to function!
HERE is how you can make a difference
Help us create a culture of challenge to the status quo. You can contribute to a strong voice with no political agenda, other than to help open up the system to a variety of new ideas and candidates, to break through the obstacles put up by long-term incumbents.
I Am Ready To Make A Differnce
What FREE & EQUAL is all about
You’ll be part of a group working to make it easier for new candidates to get on ballots, and open public debates of all kinds to qualified candidates. You can help us to reform federal, state and local election laws so there is a level playing field for all candidates. Together we can actively encourage more public participation in government at all levels. FREE & EQUAL is not politically affiliated. It is a grass roots movement for electoral reform. Our goals include getting more candidates on ballets which we believe will open up the political system to more ideas and more participation. We won’t lean toward a candidate with certain views. Our vision is that, with a more open and balanced political system, voters will have more options and we can all direct America to a better future.
Are you part of the solution?
If you have longed for an organization with a goal of government reform, but without any social, political or personal agenda then FREE & EQUAL needs you. It is because of our independence that we need the funding of individuals. Large corporations and specialty groups with agendas prefer to back the candidate that supports their views. Our purpose is to make sure ALL views make it to the table. With your participation we can contribute to the checks and balances system which has helped expose so many bad policies, wasteful government activities and sub-standard politicians. The alternative is to let Government function the way it has been.
