You must put Google Wallet next to paypal. It would help other people who do not with for paypal or use a credit card.

You would be huge if you put the debate Live on Google+

    • http://trevorsullivan.net/ Trevor Sullivan

That’s a great idea Vernon — let’s hope they do!

    • http://hubze.com/ David Foster

It will be Vernon…it will be streaming on YouTube, which is where it streams when on G+ anyway…

      • Thomas Herndon

Will youtube announce it at the top of the page like it does for other important live streams?

    • Aaron

This Debate will Broadcast at freeandequal.org/live. Thank you all for your support, this debate is going to be amazing.

  • http://www.facebook.com/william.deluca William DeLuca

I am Happy this will be online but I am extremely worried that if this is way more popular than you think that you wont be able to handel the bandwidth requirements and your systems will go down and then nobody will be able to watch it!

    • Aaron

William, This is priority number one for us. We are taking all the precautions necessary to make sure this debate runs smoothly, and everyone gets to watch it live.

  • http://trevorsullivan.net/ Trevor Sullivan

Power to the people! Let’s get rid of this two-party dictatorship!

  • werthertweet

Thank you for presenting this debate. I’d like to ask the candidates about my #1 issue: the economy – When you become President and you put forth a budget, what are the numbers for the next five years? This provides budget for a 4 year plan + 1 year into the next administration.

  • http://hubze.com/ David Foster

Looking forward to this debate, and am so glad there are organizations out there like this who really care and work hard to fight the establishment!

    Will obama and
romney attend or are they too cowardous to show up for a real debate?

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Martin-E-Kral/1165495577 Martin E Kral

      serious?

      • http://drewt333.tumblr.com/ drewt333

Serious like a heart attack. They say if voting could change anything it would be illegal. But people love to do illegal things. If voting really could change anything it would be strictly controlled by state and federal law detailing when you could vote, where you had to vote, and who or what you would be allowed to vote for. Isn’t that so?

    • starchild

Bet on the latter — too cowardly for a real debate.

    • http://www.facebook.com/joshua.s.mccullough Josh McCullough

They aren’t “allowed” to attend since they signed the contract with the CPD which states they can’t participate in any other debate. That gives them an easy out – they wouldn’t want to participate in a real debate; they would lose millions of voters!

  • http://www.facebook.com/laurela.kromer Laurel Kromer

Donated $5 to this. You should to :)

  • dr dave

WOW an honest debate without 21 pages of rules!

  • atiboy15

Just kicked in a donation. We Independents and Libertarian’s have to break the back of this duopoly fascist monopoly in US Politics once and for all. Once we get the Libertarian Party to 5% of the national vote on Nov 6th, big things will automatically happen to this 3rd Party!!

    • starchild

Yes, and it will also become that much more vital to make sure that the Libertarian Party isn’t taken over by those who would water down the libertarian message in order to pander for votes, and who would put winning money and power ahead of promoting the long-term interests of freedom. The Republican and Democrat parties didn’t start out the corrupt, unrepresentative entities that they are today — they became that way due to failure to be vigilant in maintaining a principled approach.

I encourage everyone who is enjoying this Free and Equal website to check out http://www.freedomforceinternational.org/freedom.cfm?fuseaction=creed in the future if we could get all candidates to sign the oath for the creed of freedom we could at least have a guess that they will be on the up and up.

Thank you Free & Equal! It will be a blessing to see a real debate, one our Republic deserves.

  • Bill Gray

This will be worth a small donation. It will be great exposure of other views about problems with our current government and how it can be fixed. I will spread the word…

  • Jason

Thank you for doing this. I hope Larry asks challenging questions and I hope millions are watching to see what real choices and real answers are. I’m with Johnson all the way but the others are serious candidates with honest philosophical bases for their positions and I respect them all.

  • http://www.facebook.com/elliott.rippin Sean Elliott Rippin

Will they talk about how our votes are counted through a computer system that could be easily rigged? How we cannot even check who we voted for to see if the system is working… Also I really hope they talk about picking on of them to go for president, because if we all vote scattered this election I feel that we may not be able to beat the rep and dem drones.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

I’d like to hear someone talk on that issue as well, and how we can get around it. It’s a very real threat, and was obviously the way Romney supposedly got the RepubliCon “nomination.”

This is awesome. Finally a real debate. Time for a 3rd party to get the word out that you don’t have to choose between 2 candidates that are Ideologically the same.

  • Robert H. Stiver, Oahu, Hawaii

I’m not so sure about Larry King (what kind of unbiased questions will he ask regarding the Palestinians’ torment via the sadistic oppression of the Zionist state of Israel and the U.S.’ dangerous “entangling alliance” with that very same Israel?), but the four candidates should bring intelligent and refreshing perspectives to the discourse. Going into the debate, I’m leaning strongly toward Dr. Jill Stein and her Green Party, but I’m resolved to give careful attention to all.

I believe in freedom of speech and freedom to access all points of view and if you believe in America YOU WILL TOO.

  • Lloyd Hart

This is the best idea yet. I commend whoever came up with this idea. The king makers in DC have no shame but are afraid to admit they are corrupt to the core publicly and want to simply maintain the pretense, the window dressing of democracy without the substance in policy the public is demanding. Now we can hear a debate with real substantive policy being discussed. Policy we can all sink our teeth into. With Romney and Obama I feel I’m eating a twinky. All fluff and no there, there.

    GO Gary Johnson!

I’m a devout Christian an know Christ would never allow Christians to force Christianity on any one.

This is what Christ said, and is one of the last commandments to the Church:
    Rev 22:11
“Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right; and let him who is holy continue to be holy.” – Christ

    Sounds Libertarian to me!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

Here, here! I, too, am a born-again Christian, but I support the Libertarian view that the rights of ALL must be protected if liberty is to survive. Christianity cannot be forced. If it were, it would have no value. God gave us a free will for that reason.

  • Lisaky

This sort of thing needs to be supported. I hope they will send out an e-mail notice to remind us to tune in just before it commences (!).

I am surprised and pleased that they have garnered the participation of a high profile celebrity fellow such as Larry King… the more individuals such as this participate in the process, the more difficult it becomes for mainstream media to ignore.

Now to make sure the questions asked are REAL questions.

  • Brooklyn_Guy

This is great- thank you freeandequal and thank you Larry King! Each of these candidates seems far more able to be honest and clear in their positions when compared to the demo-publican candidates. After the debate, I would love to see some sort of written chart of their positions on the various major issues covered. I find the similarities and differences in position quite interesting and informative. For example, both Green and Libertarian candidates have said they support a firm standdown of US military involvement overseas. On the other hand, Obama and Romney pretty much just waffle on the subject.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=560160824 Steve Duane

Happy to have made my donation in support of this event but I’d like to ask you to change the wording in the option labeled “I’d like to chip in $5 to help Free & Equal put on the debate!” on the RSVP page. When I clicked through after selecting that option the lowest selectable donation amount was $10. It’s easily changed to $5 by selecting “Other” and manually entering the value but it felt dishonest and should be changed (either to $10 on the RSVP page or automatically enter $5 on the donation page) if the intent is not to be misleading. Thanks.

    • starchild

Good observation Steve, I did exactly the same thing, and was thinking the same thing.

    • http://www.facebook.com/charity.ponton Charity Ponton

I was thinking the same thing. I did go ahead and contribute the $10, but it was a bit misleading

    • http://www.facebook.com/erich.haberman Erich Haberman

Thanks, Free & Equal, for organizing the first REAL U.S. presidential debate of the season! For those like myself who support Gary Johnson, I encourage you to take the next step in breaking with the two-party cartel, and register to vote Libertarian. You can also join the party as a dues-paying member at https://www.lp.org/membership. The Libertarian Party of the United States of course is just one part of a the growing worldwide libertarian movement. This is the future, and I’m excited to be part of it! But it’s still going to be a struggle, and we need everyone who understands what’s at stake and that freedom is the answer to become an activist to whatever extent you can.

  • http://www.facebook.com/roncadby Ronald B Cadby

The bandwidth problem that has made Gary Johnson’s Google + episodes a bad experience (for me) could be relieved by small still images of each candidate while they speak. Those plus their audio would reach more people……just sayin’…:)

  • RJ in NV

I’ve decided to vote for Obama since it really could come down to a couple hundred voted in NV, and Mitt Ronney scares the crap out of me. To help clear my conscious I’m donating to Free & Equal, Gary Johnson and Jill Stein. I know it’s not as good as a vote (or a vote and a contribution) but if Romney wins I’m moving to the freaking moon.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

I’m with you. I’ve threatened to move to another country if Romney’s “elected.” I put that in quotes because I know he didn’t “win” the Republican nomination; he was appointed and just went through the primaries as a sham so the People would think their votes counted. They then had the convention as a coronation party for their appointee. Every known kind of election fraud prevailed in the Republican primaries, and The People’s Constitutional right to choose their leaders was violated. If that felon wheedles his way into the Oval Office by the same fraudulent means, this country will be history, because he’s not in it for the sake of the nation nor its people. Power is his motivation.

The entire process should not be a battle, but rather a group effort to conjure up meaningful solutions and answers to questions that are answerable. This is to grow as a nation as well as individuals in order to utilize our talents and combined knowledge, so that we may all live out our lives as productive members of the global community. Thank you to everybody involved in this effort to move forward. It is time for new management and a culture change. Here is to the election of a third party member that walks the walk.

Thanks for putting on the debate. FYI I just had a problem making a contribution – was asked to use a different card. The third party debates blew my mind. Until now my entire political
strategy has been “don’t let the evil guy in.” For the first time I was
paying more attention to the issues, each candidate (regardless of the
party!) would say something that truly resonated, and I would reevaluate
my choice. I have never felt so empowered to choose. The wide spectrum
of issues discussed from CLIMATE CHANGE, healthcare, the drug wars, to
the military industrial complex, campaign finance reform–subjects
absent, or nearly absent from mainstream debates.

Thank you Christina and the entire Free & Equal team! I appreciate the efforts you make to help Americans make an informed choice about all the candidates!!

Some personal views of what I learned about the debate is candidates are complaining about too much money in politics. Money in politics is actually good because “We the people” decide who to give our money to and naturally those with the most money get a bigger megaphone. We just need to ensure no unfair advantage is given to any particular group with public (tax payer) money.

Looking forward to the next debate!!

I tend to agree with that. Just add more issues for them to debate, because God knows, we have plenty of issues!

  • http://www.facebook.com/levangiebobby Robert LeVangie

I don’t like a system of “prescribed” candidates, something here in democracy stinks, why i donated 25 dollars, capitalism is running amuck and out of control, go get em’ Jill

  • http://www.facebook.com/michelledumas Michelle Dumas

Just donated. Thank you for holding the debates!

  • Phil schulz

I donated to keep this going. Never give up, never surrender.

  • truth seeker

Hey everyone. I just want to say that I am glad that there in more than one organization that is fighting against the main stream politics and the totalitarian road that this country is going down. I thoroughly enjoyed the debates of these candidates but was a bit concerned that none of them talked about ending the system of the federal reserve. I contributed to free and equal and hope that anyone that cares about true freedom and democracy will do the same.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

I’d like to see that issue addressed more as well. The Fed has ruined our economy, and if left to continue, it will finish the job.

      • Cyril Tobiasson

That’s interesting; the Fed has been in place for one hundred years but now you say it will ruin the economy. I’m not saying that I like the Fed it’s just that I believe there are other factors. Maybe we should change the economic system. We will now swing back towards the government controlled capitalism that was installed after the 1929 economic crash. But first we must wait for the wealthy to re-write the rule books so that the politicians will know what to do. It’s so sad that they don’t have an FDR trained and ready to take over.

  • bloomgal

I am grateful to have these candidates as choices on my ballot. Please keep up the fight to retain/regain this liberty for all of us.

I contributed and I’m not even a registered voter in the U.S. — Canadian, eh? I found the first debate to be lifechanging. My only disappointment, however, is that there are only two candidates in the second debate — isn’t that what we were against in the first place?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

There were four in the first one, and then The People voted for them in the order of their preference, and the two with the most votes face off in the final.

  • http://www.facebook.com/darren.pollok Darren Pollok

Might as well spend my money on trying to fight the two-party puppet regime. Dollars will be worthless soon anyway.

I chose to make my only political contribution this year to Free and Equal because the candidates presented here more closely represent the issues of everyday Americans. Gratitude to You and Power to the People!!!

  • Jason Pedu

Thank you for what you are doing. I wish I could have contributed more.

After my Obama experience I swore I would never give another penny to anything political. But today I sent a modest contribution to the hosts of the 3rd Party candidates debate. A journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step. I encourage you all to Step up.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jitu757 Jitu Rashid

Just donated some funds your way to help get this event going. I enjoyed the first 3rd party debate and it was honest and heartfelt. Can’t wait to see the next one.

Thank you Free & Equal for getting us on the right path to freedom!

  • Chas

Will people have access to recorded debates?

  • marge wakefield

United States of America as it should be. Keep sloughing toward more freedom.

  • ilovetofarm

You are on the right track. The far left greens and far right libertarians have more in common than one would have thought. If we can agree on our commonalities and work together on those, then the differences can remain but be of lesser significance. I was impressed with the first debate how civil each of the candidates were to each other. It really was about the issues. I am also impressed with your organization, Free and Equal. Thank you for all you and the associated organizations are doing to wake america up.

  • http://www.facebook.com/rmschapiro Robert Schapiro

Just finished watching this past week’s debate. THANK YOU for all you do!

  • Anthony Vera

It was truly refreshing to hear the alternative views of the candidates the country’s elite would like to make invisible. Thanks to your efforts, we get a chance for a little breath of fresh air and relief from the flatulence of our two party system.

  • Louis Murphy

I am so glad that I found Free & Equal as a retiree of the U.S. Army. At 58 years old since I was 17 years old in 1971. America has always been on a warmongering footing for the sake of Imperialism. I realize that both are parties are just opposite ends of the same corrupt coin. Maybe by donating to Free & Equal we can change course of America before it too late and we all end up like Nazi, Germany after WW II.

10 bucks is all I could fork over but it’s worth it. Screw the 2 party system! If you are invited to a debate with other Presidential candidates and you turn it down, you are not a viable candidate in my opinion. Romney and Obama are cowards!

I’m excited and hopeful that this debate is the start of a new awareness amongst the American people and that by the next Presidential election there will be at least three parties in the mainstream debates. The more ideas, the better off our country will be. Go Jill Stein!

  • Miranda Ortiz

Just donated and early voted for Gary Johnson. I can’t wait until the rest of America wakes up and realizes that it doesn’t have to be the lesser of two evils that leads our country and that there are other candidates that actually care about people rather than funding their next election.

The mainstream media ignored the debate last week. I don’t usually watch
mainstream “news”, but I did following the debate, and saw no mention
of it at all Tuesday night or Wednesday. Was it covered at all by any
major network, or even the “fake news”? I hope this debate gets better
coverage. “Word of mouth” coverage can circle the globe in a matter of
hours, if we each forward the information to our friends.

  • Andrew

Thank you free and equal! $10 isn’t much, but if the tens of thousands of people who watched the first debate all stand up for this organization, we can surely begin to bring in millions of viewers next time.

  • Harrison Wills

I am happy to donate to Free and Equal to support their work in restoring democracy and fair elections. I am very thankful to organizations like Free and Equal, Open Debates and Democracy Now who have all been at the forefront of bringing honesty, openness and fairness back into our democratic republic.

  • Clint

We need to get behind more openness and transparency in US Presidential elections. In 2012, any candidate who is on the ballot in all fifty states and the District of Columbia should be included in the Presidential Debates. Gary Johnson was a more qualified Presidential Candidate than Ross H. Perot. Ross Perot was included in all the 1992 Presidential Debates.

  • Brian

You know, I’m registered as a Republican and have voted as such in the past. And I didn’t like Obama at all but at the same time, Romney wasn’t exactly impressing me either. Then by chance I heard about Gary Johnson and became interested in the third parties. And it makes me glad to see other options available; especially when people like Gary Johnson actually make sense with what they’re saying. So here’s $10 for the people who deserve the nation’s attention!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

I’m glad you posted this comment. On my FB profile and through e-mails, etc., I keep telling people there are more than two choices out there, and to check them out. I haven’t been certain there was anyone who didn’t already know that, however. I’m a registered Republican too, but only for the purpose of voting for Ron Paul during the primaries. Since he won’t be running as an independent, though, I’ll be voting for Gary Johnson because I feel he has the best chance of putting a good-sized dent in the results. Good to see some evidence of my assumption that there are some out there who aren’t aware there are more than two choices. We need to inform more people.

  • Carlo Voli

The voice of other parties that represent the opinions and aspirations of other Americans must be taken into account, heard, and given a fair chance to win the elections, and they should be included in the main debates. This is a good start.

      Romney and Obama were invited…

Really looking forward to watching this debate. This is what the mainstream debate should have been–candidates presenting real and differing approaches in good faith. #NowThatsADebate

  • Kyle

I really hope that you guys reach your goal for the next debate. I wish I could just kick in the rest of what you guys need and if I had the money I would. Unfortunately, the best I can do is 100 dollars. I really am looking forward to seeing a second debate.

  • RBR

Creeping fascism is not a viable option, therefore, alternative political perspectives should be explored.

  • formayor

I was very impressed with the professional display of the third party candidates. Thank you for presenting the debate. I try to pass on the link to anyone that I can. I am glad Gary Johnson and Jill Stein have made it to the final since they are capable of winning electoral votes.

We have a right and duty to defend the Constitution from all enemies. The 2 corp. controlled puppets believe indefinite detention of any person in the U.S. without due process is a presidential granted power, thats treason to me. The marriage of Gov. to Corporations is Fascism. We’re in a lot of trouble and most Americans are not aware of it….Spread the word and never give up….1776 Still Lives

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

Christina, I commend you for the courage to step up to the plate and make these debates possible. But the rest of us need to CONTINUE to do our part in reminding everyone that the two major parties are no longer relevant to the majority of Americans, but that we have candidates from “other” parties out there who are more than willing to take up the cause of The People, with the Constitution as our contract and guide, in order to ensure our liberties for future generations. If I weren’t 70 years old and still working full-time, and if had the necessary credentials, I might even run for office!

  • Bosco

Finally a party worth supporting. This was a no brainer!!

  • Doug

We need to keep this “other” party wave rolling, even after the elections! I say “other” because “third” relegates Libertarians, Greens, etc., to a lower level and there are more than three parties in the running, regardless of the anti-trust, duopolistic nature of the Demoplican Republocats!

  • Les

    Christina, nice job!

  • Jlally

When people have nothing to lose then they say what they really mean.

  • SWITTERS

The two party system is obsolete, antiquated, and inadequate to support real political discourse in the U.S., it is well passed the time for real change and as a society we face unbelievable challenges, one of which is our very existence. The status quo just doesn’t work, we need intelligent people with vision to lead us out of this mess, and that is not going to come from Dems or GOP…

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

So true! They’ve succeeded in shooting themselves in the foot and making themselves irrelevant to the masses.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

This independent movement HAS to grow and break the stronghold of the two-party system if we’re to get our country back on track. The only way that can happen is by supporting it and encouraging others to do the same.

  • Bill

Use my money to make some NOISE! Publicans and Democraps DON”T RULE! MAKE the rest of us heard!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1398810820 Charlene Burton

Recent studies have revealed that more Americans (40 percent!) now describe themselves as independents than as either of the two major parties. Unfortunately, probably not all of them vote independent because they’ve bought the “a vote for an independent is a vote for ______” hype that’s out there trying to dissuade people from voting for someone other than the duopoly. We need to make them realize that 1) there are more of us than they think, and 2) if we all vote 3rd party, we can break their stranglehold!

  • Phil

Happy to donate $50. That’s huge for me but the election is just every four years and things are at critical mass. Hope we get CSPAN again, but the duopoly has a big heads up now and will probably be successful in censoring all television coverage.

  • http://www.facebook.com/sincerelykyle Kyle Sharpe

Contributed so that in the future votes aren’t cast because you are against a candidate, but for one.

  • Marcelino Rodriguez

I don’t like corporations decide the future of this nation!

  • fatherdaddy

To Speak Truth to Power — to challenge the duopoly fascist monopoly, the corporate avatars Romney and Obama (“Only difference between Democrats and Republicans is the speed that their knees hit the floor when corporations show up” —Ralph Nader) — to hear clear positions on issues, rather than ambiguous wishy-washy tripe — I would and will vote for ANY of the candidates Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, Rocky Anderson, or Virgil Goode rather than Obama or Romney — Thank you!

  • Mark

The duopoly’s barbaric capitalism has gone too far. The militarism must end. By 2016 the ‘debate commission’ will be no more and the Free & Equal debates will help bring democracy and peace to these lands.

  • Pete a veteran

Thank You. I have contributed. Give me Liberty or give me death.

  • FRee&equAL

Free and Equal is a radical and necessary twist on our outdated and unfair electorate system. I hope to see a greater third party presence in coming elections and a third party candidate participating in the 2016 debates!

  • Jane Califf,

To keep democracy alive, we need to hear the views of all presidential candidates that have a chance of winning because they are on enough ballots. For example, Dr. Jill Stein’s name will be seen on 85% of the ballots in our country. It is a crime that she was arrested on Oct. 16th along with Cheri Honkala, her running mate for trying to get into the debate at Hofstra University – not only arrested but handcuffed painfully to a chair in a police station for 8 hours before being released. This is outrageous! Thank you to Free and Equal for having these third party debates.

  • KokoMax

Republican model seems consistent – “Lie, Cheat and Steal” to win elections. Obama frightening in foreign policy/domestic spying matters, I want our Republic back from the banksters and the corptocracy blasted back to the hell from which it arose.

Call me dumb and naive, but this just is not the way our country was designed to hold national elections.

  • Russ T.

I have been a long-time supporter of the Green Party. I voted for Ralph Nader and will vote for Jill Stein this election. I totally believe in the core 10 principles that Green Party candidates avow, and think it is also vitally important that they eschew corporate contributions to maintain maximum credibility with the average independent voter.

  • http://twitter.com/SheppardCM Chris Sheppard

This is a great cause. We need more democracy and less money involved in elections. Thank you Free & Equal!

  • Jeremy Griffith

The 3rd party debate last week proved beyond doubt that this organization can do real and positive work to chip away at the Democrat-Republican axis of power.

I am proud to contribute to this effort. We have the opportunity to work incrementally towards a more genuine democracy! Will we take it?

  • Christine

You have my full support and will be watching the 2nd debate on Tuesday!

  • http://www.facebook.com/larry.sinclair.37 Larry Sinclair

Tired of the lies from the two party system backed up by the Corporate media. I want our Democracy back (ok, our Republic back).

  • Waking Up to real Liberty

The Duopoly must cease or the U.S.A. is not a true Democracy. 5% is critical for this election and organizations like FreeandEqual are key to making it happen. I’ll never check off the $3 box for political contributions on our tax returns again, until the duopoly is over. I will redirect those funds to organizations like yours, instead. I recommend everyone to do the same.

  • http://www.facebook.com/daryl.davis.391 Daryl Davis

I’m a Jill Stein and Green Party supporter – People need to hear the so called “Third Party” Candidates – not just speculate about their positions, or have them be characterized by the corporate candidates. It makes a joke of American Democracy.

  • Jim Dudley

I want more issues and ideas open for discussion.

  • Scott

I am a Republican, and will be voting for Mitt Romney, but I contributed because I believe that all candidates should have an equal voice in American politics.

I wanted to put my money (such as it is) where my mouth is as regards giving third-party candidates a voice.

  • Ben

For hosting the debate and fighting one of the most important fights we have to fight. The major parties have hijacked the government and make it onerous on other parties. Shame on them!

  • http://www.facebook.com/andrewsw1088 Andrew S. Weit

I contributed because I believe that neither of the big-two has our interests at heart. We need to stop believing that voting for the “lesser of two evils” is how democracy works. We need to realize that if we all vote our values, the system can change peacefully. This is not naive. This is how the system is supposed to work! Thank you Free & Equal!

  • http://www.facebook.com/xTCxGR8MILENKO Stephen Kirscher

I think that the CPD control debates are unconstitutional in that they are controlled to deny third party candidates from having their voices heard. An non-politically motivated, for all debate is needed now that other parties besides democrats & republicans have emerged in the political races. This allows for a balanced debate which translates into a balanced and well informed public providing for a fair & balanced election. I believe that Free & Equal as an organization is taking the right steps towards accomplishing this and this is why I support Free & Equal

  • Lenora

Let’s change this two party system! thanks for giving other candidates a voice.

  • Isafjordur

I am very happy to see someone who is committed to bringing these third party candidates and their issues to light, even if it is a small light. Many of my friends from overseas are surprised the USA has more than two political parties. I have enjoyed sharing the link from the debate with them to educate them on this, and they have appreciated learning about issues from third parties.

We need to hear a real debate on issues facing our economic future, constitutional freedoms, health, environment and planet.

So far very little has been addressed by the Democratic and Republican debates.

I am looking forward to the libertarian and Green party debate –which hopefully will address these issues and more.

Eagerly awaiting the day every candidate is treated as a legitimate candidate. I don’t ever want to hear another fool claiming that a vote for a third party is a “wasted vote.” The only wasted vote is a vote for someone you really don’t believe in.

  • http://www.facebook.com/christopher.etter.16 Christopher Etter

Any revolution that relies on ‘the people to rise up’ as a result of a few activists seldom sees positive results, but if I can add just one more voice then it is my duty to the Constitution I swore to defend to do so. I expect it will take monetary collapse to finally spur ‘the people’ to action. When that occurs the populist demagogues must be opposed with logic and reason and I have to be a part of that. Only when people have no choice but to understand that there neither is, nor has there ever been, anything available ‘for free’ will ‘the people’ ever force the government out of their money and lives. Then, at least, it will be a few more generations before the same ruinous cycle of perceived entitlement repeats.

  • Ken Badziak

Because I’ve always believed you can move mountains!

  • parsifal54

Looking forward to the second debate, with candidates who actually answer important questions, rather than repeat their corporate-authored talking points ad nauseam.

  • gracentruth

I contributed to FREE and EQUAL because it is way past time for America to become free and equal instead of a dictatorship. Peace,

  • Joe G

I contributed because I appreciate the efforts that have made these debates possible. I think and hope as time passes and technology advances, social changes will create increased strain on the two party system, and if democracy is important, citizens will question their options.

Democracy includes and requires choices, two parties are not much of a choice

  • Timothy Webb

So very tire of the Dems and Reps debating point of views which, in reality, are nothing more than fine points of the similar stance. The federal government’s powers are well-delineated in the Constitution, yet the mainstream politicos ignores it. We need a new paradigm altogether.

I didn’t know the Presidential Third Party was being aired until I stumbled upon it. I enjoyed the debate in the fact that it was not a “he said, she said” and everyone was both civilized and passionate about their beliefs. All candidates simply wanted to talk on their stance and experiences and how they would really change America. After all, what is democracy if everyone doesn’t get a voice?

Happy to support an organization that gives a voice to Libertarian and other 3rd parties

Someone once told me you can tell whats important to another person by looking at their checkbook register. Just wanted to let you guys know that you and the work FreeAndEqual.org does is important to me.

The two party oligarchy may be too strong to beat, but I know which side I’m on. We need to reform our broken system. Approval voting now!

  • Brian S

I donated because I’ve come to the realization that I can’t vote for Obama (a bad president) or Romney (a man out of touch with the middle or lower class and at war with women of the United States). I’ve long wanted a real third or fourth party…this is a way to put a little money where my mouth has been. That was a great debate last week, by the way. Thanks you all for that, and please keep it up. I’d love to get involved further with the organization if you’re looking for people with years of experience/skills as a media professional.

    • Brian S

And sorry for the typo. :)

I contributed because I am sick and tired of the two war parties.

I don’t think we are anyway close to electing a third party candidate, but I do the electorate is ready to make them a big enough deal that they start seriously impacting the conversation in our national election and start making the Republicans and Democrats break a sweat.

  • Constance “Dusti” Becker

Thanks for bringing some real democracy backed to our broken nation. You did an excellent job on the first debate. Huge thanks to Larry King.

I’m really looking forward to the debate and hope that such debates can be extended to all levels of office. My dream would be for this organization to supplant the Commission on Presidential Debates that currently supports the current tyranny of the two-party system.

I don’t think it’s right that people are thinking they only have 2 candidates to vote from. I’m proud of myself for educating myself and love this site for bringing more awareness!

    I like having choices.

  • tigger1968

I believe that ALL parties running, and qualified to run, should be allowed to have a voice. I am disgusted to find out the way our elections are run. I think that Gary Johnson is an honest to God true hope for the United States and it is a travesty that he has been shut out.

  • Paul Schiro

this was a no brainer for me… we need more voices in politics than the duopoly.

  • thornintheside

Gladly donated knowing that we are collectively waking up to the alternatives. Thanks for leading the way! I suspect there is a good reason for you folks initiating that survey to “Vote for the best two” after the last debate. However, to me, it seems totally antithetical to this idea of having more voices being included in every debate. Unless the participating parties voluntarily withdraw, I think you need to rethink this concept next time, otherwise it appears to me that it runs the risk of becoming the very same thing we say we are against, a faux popularity contest with narrow political perspectives. For now, I’m with you. It’s an experiment that I hope we can all see a positive outcome from. Thanks, again!

  • David Rohrlich

Grateful that you are providing Jill Stein with another opportunity to debate.

  • George Kniss

Just made my first contribution to the third party movement! As a long time registered Democrat, I have for some time believed that this country can’t operate with just two parties. My German wife impressed me with the way that Germany with essentially 5 partys requires coalisions to be made and therefore brings competition into the mix. If only a group of moneyied patriots would drop a billion dollars and then walk away…..then we’d have a head start on establishing a third party or two permanently.

  • http://www.facebook.com/airheck.petroleum Эрик Петро

I’m 20 years old and this is my first political monetary donation. I’m so excited to see third party debates, and while the first was kind of awkward, I understand it’s historical significance and am happy to help make the next even bigger. Thank you Free and Equal!!

  • SBursick

I contributed because I believe everyone has the right for representation!

  • Cenza

Enjoyed the last last debate, as I consider it the only worth while debate. We need all the help we can get for a third party in this country before we lose our freedoms that American GI’s are dying for in other countries.

Our form of democracy is broken. The two party system is stifling real debate and real solutions to our problems. All parts of government are being controlled by special interests, the two biggest being Republicans and Democrats.

  • http://www.facebook.com/jessica.buchanan.750 Jessica Buchanan

Thank you so much for giving the candidates a chance to share their views for leadership in this country. I’ve been fighting so hard to show people we are not limited to the two parties on parade. It is nice to know that there is an organization out there fighting for the same thing.

  • TrenchAce

It’s time to end this two-party system that leaves so many voices unheard! Bring intelligence back to the American people in politics, so they have to educate themselves about individual candidates and make the best choice possible, instead of voting along two horrible party lines.

  • Cyril

The debate is important in order to present more then just what the two major parties have shown. It’s way past time for the voters to wake up. The political process must give the voters real choices. The insane path being lead by the “Robamney” gang will lead to the destruction of this country!

  • http://www.facebook.com/matthew.l.hays Matthew L Hays

  • tom truth

Gary Johnson, his running mate Judge Jim Gray, Dr. Jill Stein and others doesn’t smoke “weed”themselves, but they believes it should be treated like alchohol and tobacco, not as a crime. That will get it out of the hands of criminals. It’s too bad some dishonest abuse the truth for their own purposes.
He and Jill are the best two candidates and I wish them well.

  • barb.m

I want to have more choices to vote for instead of hearing the same old lies & propaganda day in & day out- its sickening! I really liked the debate of the 4 candidates. I hope there will be one more debate.

I love that the green party and the libertarians are for an end to the drug war and they both support medical marijuana, as well as the right of our farmers to grow industrial hemp! That’s a great step to a real recovery of our economy and our freedom!

  • VFCS

Enjoyed the debate a lot. Good to have a real debate with real questions and real answers instead of the flop we get with the Dem/Rep debate.

I have to say that I was impressed with all of the participants. They represented a wide spectrum of views, but they all handled themselves well with clear, concise and polite answers.

I am concerned, however, about the next debate. It seems to me that Free and Equal is doing the same thing that the Rep/Dem debate is doing. That is, only allowing major party candidates to participate. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to predict that the Green Party candidate and the Libertarian Party candidate would get into the second debate. These parties have been around for a long time with well established organizations and a large base of supporters. I say let all four of the original candidates participate in the second debate.

I am absolutiely confident that, within a generation, this RepubliCrat monopoly of the elections will be broken. Every day, I run across people who say, “I like Libertarians.” It’s a matter of educating people who aren’t too completely brainwashed and entrenched in their voting habits to listen. I think it’s also important to give an equal voice to candidates who don’t believe exactly as I do, like Green Party candidates. We share a lot in common. We love nature and we hate war and police-state violence. People need to know there are OPTIONS. Whatever they believe in, they are NOT restrictied to the Democan or the Republicrat. Once they learn that, and once they purge themselves of the “wasted vote” myth, they will vote differently. I met a young guy who had just voted early. I’m pretty sure he’d voted Democrat. He was frustrated because the day after he voted, he saw Gary Johnson on the news. He said, “If I had known about Gary Johnson, I would have voted for him!” There are others who would have voted for one of the other third-party candidates, IF THEY HAD KNOWN. That man was 18 or 19 years old. This I believe: IN A GENERATION, THE TWO-PARTY SYSTEM WILL BE BROKEN!

  • Me

A $$$ to push the bullies aside and help give exposure to those whose voice is not as audible as the bullies but that probably possess (if not more) as much talent as the bullies. By they way, if one wants to contribute from outside the US (I, for example), one can’t enter the correct telephone number because the webform doesn’t accept non-US-formatted phone numbers. Fix?

  • http://www.facebook.com/jacqueline.manchester Jacqueline Jeanne Manchester

I contributed because I need to put some money where my mouth is. I have voted 3rd party for years, and have only contributed a little. Well, I don’t have much, but I need to do a part. I believe we need free and open elections. Not to the point that we have multitudes of candidates and no one wins and we have no REAL choices, but some kind of controlled system whereby, recognized parties can enter qualified candidates for offices on every leveL. I have read that Geoge Washington was against having parties–men should run on the basis of their adherance to our Constitution, and their qualifications for the office. I think there should be a litmus test for every candidate, they should have to take a test on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, if they can’t pass it, they are disqualified, no second chances. I trust in Jesus, no politics or politicians, but God gave us our system of government and its a great one, and we need to uphold it, or we will be destroyed.

The 4 way debate in Chicago moderated by Larry King was awesome! What a breath of fresh air to hear these presidential candidates talk about the real issues. I hope Monday’s debate is able to stream without the technical hitches we experienced with the Nader debate tonight.

Btw, I was a little disconcerted when I went to Rt.com to look for updates and instead of seeing a banner for tomorrow’s debate (Monday), saw a big one for “Tuesday’s debate”, which has caused at least some people to think the next debate is on Tuesday. (I was able to correct a couple friends) It would be good to have the promo for the next debate up and prominent, no? And where to look for the feed..

Thanks for doing these debates. They are so important! Shame on Cspan and the rest of the media for not carrying them. (tho cspan did carry the last one, tho archived it under events instead of under Campaign Debates as they should and where it would able to be found by anyone looking there for presidential debates.)

  • Bill Singleton

I refuse to vote for another Democrat or Republican President because for the 26th presidential election cycle over the last 99 years both political parties have insisted on keeping the Federal Reserve Board in power, which has been so harmful to USA citizens. Gary Johnson is our best chance for abolishing the Fed in favor of a constitutional currency.

My sister-in-law wouldn’t give the alternative party candidates consideration because she doesn’t hear about them tell close to the election, leaving her feeling their not viable, and thus, a wasted vote.

I will continue to post on yahoo news and hope others that after leaving the Republican party will do the same . Was a precinct Chairman when Ron Paul first began his career and been a loyal Republican straight ticket member ever sinse ,waiting for another Goldwater but he never came along ,that is until Ron Paul . I will support a Ron Paul type only from now on .
That is why Isupport free & equal and Gary Johnson’s backing of Ron Paul led me to Christina Tobin’s free & equal debates with Larry King moderating . All four candidates that I saw were far above the two we were offered .Only by speaking the truth as best as we can will America travel in that direction .

  • VN Alexander

I don’t want political parties anymore. I’d rather vote for issues/individuals.

Keep it up!

The two party system is merely political theatre designed to give the illusion of choice. Corporate media is the handmaiden of special interests. Their strategy is divide and conquer. If things don’t change, this country will be the new China. Slavery already is rampant through non-living wages, the industrial prison complex, lack of educational opportunity and the chemical lobotomy more than half of the country is under, due to the Pharmaceutical and Industrialized Farming Industry owning the FDA, CDC, USDA… along with most every other Government acronym agency supposedly in place to protect us. If that group of criminals doesn’t own it, the Banks and Religous sectors do. We need a real choice in who runs this country, to get things back from the Oligarchy.

  • http://www.facebook.com/AdrianCBanks Adrian Banks

The slave power has risen once again and is well funded as usual. Our labor does not belong to us. The people must awaken, but to awaken them we must tell them the truth. Thank you for your efforts in your quest to make elections fair and equal. I hope to run for Congress again next year on a platform of introducing legislation that enforces the 13th amendment. This legislation, called “The Liberty Restoration Act,” can be read in Chapter XI of my book “The Slaveholders Won the Civil War.” The first 100 copies have been printed and I will be mailing you a copy. Many years of legal and historical research have gone into this book. I hope to be there at the festival in June. I’m FED UP with Democrats and Republicans screwing-over America and American citizens for “ulterior motives” and “hidden agendas”; they are NOT “governing” America. Rather, BOTH are the principal architects of America’s SYSTEMATIC DESTRUCTION! An admitted political “fence-sitter” (as an Independent) since the debacle of Carter (following on that abomination, Nixon), the fact of a 2nd term for Obama has HURLED me “off” that political fence and “into” the embrace of the Libertarian Party.

THAT has led me to “Free & Equal” — which I whole-heartedly endorse in every respect!

    Please — CARRY ON!!

I will continue to contribute to your work/efforts as best I can.

P.S. I thoroughly enjoyed your “excluded” Party/Candidate presidential debates last Fall — I watched your posted videos of them multiple times. Didn’t care for much of what I “heard”, but that’s entire beside of the point of GETTING to “hear” them!!

I think it is reprehensible the way the Dem-Rep parties have a monopoly on televised debates for elected office, especialy for president. As long as that goes on we are not a government of the people. We are more of a “Boss Tweed democracy: I don’t care who you vote for as long as I do the nominating.”

I believe in the Liberty of the foundation of this great nation. I emigrated to USA 33 years ago 1980 and became uscitizenship later. The two-party system obstructs progress by discouraging and often preventing Americans from having an intelligent dialogue about ANY of the issues. Let’s stop this childish “us against them” mentality, get rid of the smoke and mirrors, and start nurturing multi-POV political debate worthy of this great country we live in.

I believe fervently in the principles upheld by “Free and Equal”, and the time has never been more urgent for these things to be heard and acted upon if our nation and its Constitutional foundation is to survive.

I am aGreen Party Member and was disgusted that the two major parties ignored the Green Party in the Debates because the Green Party has some foreward thinking ideas (not right or left) that people need to hear and know about. Keep up the great work.

Sick of the big money, two-party mockery. People have forgotten what our way of life is supposed to be. It needs to change NOW!

  • Greeneyedcritter

I want to thank you for this DVD offer and for the great work you do, especially of helping to try to get third party candidates in the presidential debates. I really hope your festival & bus tour gets a lot of attention and raises a lot of awareness in this country to break the two-party system. And for anybody that is interested, I run a third party politics website, you can check it out here: http://thirdpartypolitics.us

I was disgusted when I learned there were alternative presidential candidates (some even more qualified than the highly promoted ones) that were not getting public exposure, leaving us with, essentially, no real choices. I would be thrilled for that commission to no longer have so much control of the election process.

Average Americans are the MAJORITY. We have the numbers, we need to collectively use our numbers to shape policy. In solidarity……..

  • River Otters For Freedom

It is time to rid this country of the republicrats, and I believe Free and Equal is essential for that to happen.

I’d like to be involved in any way that I can to help organize, and educate more people about the only way that we’re going to save our country from the left, and right wing puppets in government that are attacking our liberties on a daily basis. I live in Michigan and there is no grassroots organizations supporting our cause in the area that I know of. If anyone knows of an independent, organization for liberty in Lansing, MI or anywhere in Michigan for that matter, email me at [email protected]. Thanks

Living in a democracy with political plurality it just hurts to watch yours going down the drain, hope you can manage to change that!

  • Micrenal

I HAVE HAD IT! The corruption, the dividedness, I’ve had it!

  • Frank_O

I want to end the dominance of the corrupt big government, Constitution trashing 2 Party system. I want a viable 3rd Party alternative that supports small, Constitutional government, restores our freedoms, a return to sound money & a balanced budget.
