All Elections Shall be Free & Equal

Free & Equal Elections is a 501(c)(3) non-profit formed to break the stranglehold of the two-party system and reform the electoral system throughout the United States.

Free & Equal Elections Foundations (formerly Foundation for Free Campaigns and Elections) was organized in October of 1982 and reorganized by Christina Tobin, an American activist and leader in the election reform and voters’ rights movements, in 2008.  Free & Equal is dedicated to creating open and transparent elections that give power back to the individual voter. We strive to create a system in which all citizens are equal in their ability to participate.

What sets Free & Equal apart is our ability to reach both the Left and the Right, ensuring all voices are heard.

2012 Presidential Debate moderated by Larry King

During the 2012 elections, Free & Equal hosted an open presidential debate on Oct. 23 at the Hilton Chicago, moderated by broadcast journalist Larry King. All six top Presidential candidates were invited.  Those choosing to participate in the debate represented the Libertarian, Green, Justice and Constitution parties. A second debate was held on the eve of Election Day in Washington, D.C.  In the time leading  up to the debates, Free & Equal trended in the Top 10 on Twitter. The debates were broadcast worldwide on C-SPAN, MSNBC, CNN Radio, RT America, Al Jazeeera, as well as live on OraTV, YouTube, and the Free & Equal website with an estimated viewing audience of 20 million!  These debates provided a chance for millions of young people to become educated and involved – and they loved it!

Free & Equal changed the national dialogue. Now That’s A Debate!

The debates brought attention to the real issues facing our country including foreign policy, the economy, and civil rights, rather than topics that divide us as a nation. We sought ideas from all sides of the spectrum and in so doing greatly enhanced our national reservoir of ideas and started working our way towards new solutions.

Free & Equal believes that all ballot-qualified candidates should have the opportunity to participate in debates. To this end, Free & Equal hosted presidential debates in 2012 and in 2008. These events were the only presidential debates featuring independent and third party candidates to be broadcast live to a nationwide audience.

2013 “United We Stand” Festival

“If ever you can bring about revolutionary changes, two things would be required: young people would have to be involved and you would need music.” – Dr. Ron Paul

Free & Equal is here to UNITE and build honest media, organizations, leaders, musicians, authors, comedians and more across the spectrum to reform the electoral system. The two-party system has been intentionally dividing us for centuries, and Free & Equal will help foster collaboration, leadership and true problem-solving.

Free and Equal’s “United We Stand” Festival will be held at Verizon Arena in Little Rock, AR on June 22nd, 2013 and will be the kick-off event for igniting the grassroots movement to break the stranglehold of the two-party duopoly and reform the electoral process throughout the U.S. once and for all. This event will be featuring the music, excitement and big names needed to create a truly successful movement of the voter youth! “United We Stand” Festival is the beginning of the SOLUTION to the political status quo problem.

2014 “United We Stand Festival” University Bus Tour

Next Spring we will launch a 10 city “United We Stand Festival” University Bus Tour. Each stop will showcase a panel of experts (au- thors, musicians, leaders, etc) on various important topics such as the Patriot Act, SOPA, NDAA, the war on drugs, foreign policies, genetically modified organisms and more.

National Database

“The function of leadership is to create more leaders, not more followers.” – Ralph Nader

This movement will inspire individuals across the spectrum to run for local office in 2014. These candidates will be listed in our National Database which will help these grassroots candidates win their local races. Free & Equal’s ultimate goal here is to build leaders.

Free & Equal is here to offer a long-term solution!

All elections shall be free and equal

Wow … this is what our elections for representative government are supposed to be ! Because of the creation of Free and Equal and the debate between the Third Party Candidates that it was able to present to the American people tonight via CSpan on TV and the on-line options for viewing, I will go to bed tonight with a sense of hope for the American people that I haven’t had in quite some time. Thank you so very much Free and Equal !

I enjoyed watching this debate And how respectful you all were to each other. My main concern is the environment.Mainly all the chemicals everywhere which should be taken off the market.
A cleaner planet & healthier food & water.Cancer & other diseases & illness would be greatly reduced.Expensive studies unnessary & health insurance reduced & so on.Corporations or anyone using any kind of poisons shut down & it be considered a serious crime.Educate children in school about respecting the planet & their bodies.Teach them about eating healthy ect. & the risks of drugs & smoking cigarettes & alcohol. Then that would reduce drug crimes.
We are a product of our enviroment so implement this is very important if we want to all still be around.Try it out before you condem it.It will catch on.Look @ Dr.Oz on prime time.
30 years ago I was called a health nut & and now my organic healthy lifestyle is not so radical.Besides I am self employed & cannot afford health insurance so thank God for educating my self in Holistic healthy lifestyle. However I like it if the Holistic practicenors be covered by health insurances.
President Obama most likely will be reelected but he will be open to listening to the knowledgable candidates on this site .He does have a good heart & is very compassionate & intelligent & does care about the enviroment.Keep up the good work!

Uh-huh, he cares about the environment so much he just turned it into one big petri dish for Consanto to experiment on, (HR 933 Section 735) and no one has any legal recourse. The nail in the coffin for ever stopping GMO. This should come as no surprise to anyone following this issue since he put Monsanto lawyer Michael Taylor in charge of safety at the FDA. Of course the seemingly ubiquitous Soros in the picture too, buying up the farmland left over after the (fewer and fewer) small operators are driven out of business.

Everyone who eats should view the “Future of Food” and “Symphony of the Soil” (FoF on YouTube I believe). After Nature is gone, you can’t get it back.

Thank you so much for providing a venue where real candidates are given a voice. It was wonderful to hear the views of each of these candidates on the questions posed. I was considering not voting in the presidential election this year as a way of protesting what I believe are two bought candidates; now I feel I have the opportunity to protest by casting my vote for someone I believe in rather than with-holding my vote from candidates I don’t believe in. I hope that many more Americans feel this way and vote in such a manner as to change our very constricting current political system. Good luck to these alternative candidates!

Have the next debate on Pennsylvania Avenue … in front of the White House.

Well done Free & Equal. I have watched the major debates and the debates Democracy NOW! produced; this was by far the best one. Thanks for the opportunity to rank the candidates.

Correcting the spelling in your introduction above, would greatly increase the perceived legitimacy of your organization.

    • Lawrence Baker

Actually, spelling is not an issue but grammar and punctuation are. The first sentence should replace …an fair an… with …a fair and… and the fifth paragraph should replace …groups… with …group’s…

Would you consider teaming up with FairVote and supporting Ranked Choice Voting? This powerful reform will truly allow more voices and better choices as it removes the ‘spoiler effect’ when there are three or more candidates in a race and allows small-party candidates to have a chance.
